Bloomington police have arrested a man suspected in a fatal shooting last week.

The Bloomington Police Dept. announced Friday that Gary W. O’Bryant, 56, of Bloomington, had been arrested and charged with murder.

The department said in an emailed statement that the arrest followed an anonymous tip and interviews with two others that led to a search warrant.

Officers carried out a search in the 900 block of W. Graham Drive. They found O’Bryant as well as a deceased man inside a bedroom. Police said the deceased man had been wrapped with blankets and bound with rope.

An autopsy found the cause of death to be a gunshot wound, according to police. The man has not yet been identified pending notification of family.

O’Bryant was booked into the Monroe Co. Jail on several other charges, including dealing methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and failure to report a dead body.

The police statement said the investigation was ongoing.
