Bloomington man arrested in Kalao nightclub shooting pleads not guilty

The Bloomington man charged in connection with a shooting at the Kalao nightclub on April 23 entered a plea of not guilty in his initial hearing Monday. 

Keiantrea Washington was arrested on multiple felony charges on May 2, a little more than a week after Bloomington police identified him from the bar’s video surveillance as the shooter that injured three men. 

The 27-year-old was released on a $500 cash bond May 4. Washington has a no contact order for the three shooting victims – ages 41, 26 and 22.

Washington is facing felony charges of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery and one count of criminal recklessness.  

His next pre-trial hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 30.
