A crash that killed three Indiana State University students and injured two others may have been the result of heavy rain, speeding and drinking, according to a report written by Vigo County sheriff’s officer Bernie McGee.

Three students were pronounced dead at the scene: Caleb VanHooser, Christian Eubanks, and Jayden Musili. Survivor Omarion Dixon was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital, and John Moore was moved to Union Hospital.

Moore, who was recently transferred out of the ICU, said the five students were returning from a house party in Bloomington where they had all been drinking. Eubanks was driving the car, a 2008 Toyota Camry, which was going over 90 miles per hour when it crashed into a tree in Riley, Indiana, on Ind. 46, about 10 miles outside Terre Haute.

Officers arrived at the burning vehicle at 1:36 a.m. Witness Lucas Bishop and the Riley Fire Department quickly removed two of the students from the wreck.

The victims were all entering their freshman or sophomore years.
