Man shot during possible home invasion

Bloomington police say a 39-year-old man is in an Indianapolis hospital after calling 911 following multiple gunshot wounds. Police say the shooting took place following a separate 911 call from the man who shot him.

At around 5:10 a.m. Tuesday morning, a 35-year-old man called emergency dispatchers saying that there was a burglary in progress at his home in the 1700 block of S Pinestone Ct. While police headed to the scene, the caller said the other man broke his bedroom window and tried to get inside. The caller fired multiple shots at the alleged intruder, who fled north.

Dispatchers received another call at 5:21 from a man in Switchyard Park who reported being shot. Police discovered that the man was in fact shot at the 1700 block of S Pinestone Ct and had driven to the park before requesting an ambulance.

Police say both men knew each other, and their investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
