IU's Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity placed on cease and desist list

Currently 24 fraternities and sororities are on disciplinary status or suspension at IU Bloomington.

Alpha Epsilon Pi became the third Greek house this fall to be placed on the cease and desist list by IU’s Division of Student Affairs.

That means all organized social events and activities for the fraternity are suspended until further notice. The cease and desist went into effect Tuesday.

The Division of Student Affairs listed “endangering others” and “alcohol” as reasons for the cease and desist on  its website. The site says cease and desist “is an interim measure placed upon certain aspects of chapter operations when there is an immediate threat or ongoing investigation.”

Sigma Alpha Mu and Sigma Phi Epsilon were placed on the cease and desist earlier this month.

Alpha Epsilon Pi had been on elevated disciplinary probation since April 25. That is scheduled to end at the end of this month, when extended disciplinary probation will take effect through Dec. 15.
