The Indiana women’s basketball team is now the No. 2-ranked team in the nation – the highest ranking the Hoosiers have ever attained.
Indiana moved up two spots in the rankings Monday after wins last week at Minnesota and Purdue. Defending NCAA champion South Carolina is No. 1.
The Hoosiers are 22-1 overall and have won 10 straight games. They sit atop the Big Ten with a 12-1 record, a half-game ahead of No. 5 Iowa. The Hoosiers and Hawkeyes play Thursday night at Simon Skjot Assembly Hall.
Senior center Mackenzie Holmes averages 22.0 points and 7.7 rebounds a game to lead the Hoosiers. Indiana has three other players averaging in double figures – junior guard Sydney Parrish (13.0), freshman guard Yarden Grazon (12.0) and grad Grace Berger (11.4).
After Thursday night’s game, the Hoosiers have four games remaining, including three against ranked teams.
