Indiana University’s Alpha Phi sorority was placed on cease and desist after performing inappropriate hazing rituals, endangering others and using alcohol.

The sorority joined Zeta Beta Tau and Theta Chi on the cease and desist list Feb. 24, according to IU Student Affairs. Nine other Greek organizations are currently suspended, and seven are on disciplinary status.

The cease and desist order prevents the sorority from hosting any events or activities until an investigation of the disciplinary violation is complete.

Alpha Phi does not have a record of disciplinary actions taken against it within the past four years.

The sorority could face suspension or expulsion from the university if it receives additional misconduct violations. The cease and desist order will remain in effect until further notice.
