Freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino announced Friday he was forgoing his remaining eligibility at Indiana and entering the NBA draft.
Hood-Schifino is projected to be a lottery pick in the June draft. That would put him in the top 14 picks.
He started 32 games for Indiana this year, averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Hood-Schifino was a second team All-Big Ten pick and named the league’s Freshman of the Year.
“For me, the time is now,” he told ESPN.
Hood-Schifino is the latest Hoosier to leave the program. Sophomore center Logan Duncomb, sophomore guard Tamar Bates and junior forward Jordan Geronimo have all entered into the NCAA’s transfer portal.
Senior starters Trayce Jackson-Davis, Race Thompson and Miller Kopp will also move on.
Indiana did add Ball State transfer Peyton Sparks Wednesday. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound center averaged 13.3 points and 8.7 rebounds last season with the Cardinals as a sophomore.
