Indiana University is launching its 2030 Strategic Plan, after it was approved by IU’s trustees in April.
IU Bloomington Provost Rahul Shrivastav said the plan is adapted for all eight campuses and includes programs for AI, research on aging, and using quantum science.
“The strategic plan was designed to say, ‘what are things we don’t do that we need to invest in,'” Shrivastav said.
Shrivastav said that’s why traditional strengths of IU, like arts and humanities, aren’t mentioned as areas of focus by the strategic plan.
“Arts and humanities is what makes IU, IU," he said.
Shrivastav said hundreds of faculty volunteered to share their perspectives for the plan, and were broken up into 25 working groups.
