IU Student Health Center offering updated COVID-19 vaccine

The CDC recommends everyone ages 5 and up get vaccinated to help protect against COVID-19 according to their website.
The CDC recommends everyone ages 5 and up get vaccinated to help protect against COVID-19 according to their website.

The IU Student Health Center is currently offering the updated COVID-19 booster vaccine to students, staff and faculty.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone six months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine if they have not received a COVID vaccination in the last two months.

The virus that causes COVID-19 is always changing, and protection from the vaccines decline over time. The best way to be protected against new variants is to get the updated vaccine. Getting vaccinated also protects against developing Long COVID or being hospitalized.

Most Americans can still get the COVID-19 vaccine for free, according to the CDC. Most health insurance plans will cover the cost of the vaccine. For adults without health insurance or with plans that do not cover the cost of the vaccine, the CDC’s Bridge Access Program provides free COVID-19 vaccines at local health centers or pharmacies.
