Bloomington Police are searching for information on a vehicle that hit a Bloomington woman found dead in a ditch on Walnut Street Pike Sunday.

The woman, 37-year-old Jade Sanders, had numerous injuries consistent with being hit by a car, according to an autopsy completed Wednesday.

Surveillance footage of the area shows a car hit her at 6:45 pm on January 27, a day before she was found, according to Bloomington Police.

Police say the car appears to be a large, dark colored sports utility vehicle that was south bound on Walnut Street Pike.

According to BPD, people traveling down Walnut Street Pike on January 27 reported a newer model SUV pulled over at the intersection of South Walnut Street Pike and East Burks Drive.

One passerby told police they stopped and spoke with a middle-aged man circling an SUV, who said they thought they had hit a deer. The passerby described him dark complected and dressed in a suit, according to BPD.

Police want anyone with information on the SUV or driver to call Detective Chris Scott at 812-349-3382.

The woman, 37-year-old Jade Sanders, was unhoused.
