Bloomington leaders plan to present an update later this month on the progress that’s been made on the new Hopewell neighborhood.
The public event is at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 23 at the John Waldron Arts Center.
The future neighborhood will replace the former IU Health hospital at 2 nd and Rogers Streets.
City officials will discuss the timeline for the project, as well as design features. Mayor Kerry Thomson, who will speak at the event, said the neighborhood will foster community.
“Hopewell represents a bold vision for the future of Bloomington — a neighborhood that champions our values of inclusivity, sustainability, and community connection,” Thomson said in a press release.
Plans for the mixed-use neighborhood prioritize public art, green space and mixed-income housing.
