Main concern for the week is the potential for snow showers and squalls tomorrow that may impact travel.

Weather officials are warning travelers to be on the lookout for snow showers and squalls Wednesday afternoon and into the evening.

Squalls are intense bursts of snow that could lead to whiteout visibility and hazardous road conditions. Forecasters said it could also lead to flash freezing rain.

Wednesday’s daytime highs are predicted to reach the mid-30s with wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Thursday will be even colder with highs in the mid-20s and morning wind chills as low as negative 5 degrees.

Officials said to be alert on the road, reduce speed, watch for brake lights, and leave space between cars – especially during the evening commute.
