Travel watches in effect as winter weather advisory expires at 1 p.m.

A winter weather advisory will expire at 1 p.m. Forecasters at the National Weather Service say numerous snow showers will continue into the afternoon bringing another inch of snow.

Travel watches for Monroe, Brown, and Orange counties - and travel advisories for most of southern Indiana are in effect.

Winds up to 30 and 40 mph will create blowing snow at times. Slick conditions will persist, especially on untreated roads and overpasses.

Forecasters say a much colder than normal week is expected with multiple mornings of sub-zero wind chills. The cold weather looks to stick around through the weekend into early next week with some signs of closer to normal temperatures heading into the end of the month.
