Severe weather predicted Friday night into Saturday

A threat for severe storms is possible late Friday night into early Saturday, with damaging winds the primary threat, along with heavy rain, flooding, and isolated tornadoes.

Forecasters say to be on the lookout for severe weather Friday night into Saturday.

National Weather Service officials say a strong storm system is heading to the state in two waves.

One late Friday night into Saturday morning, and another Saturday afternoon and evening bringing threats of damaging widespread winds and isolated tornadoes.

A wind advisory takes effect Friday at 5 p.m. for wind gusts up to 55 mph. Higher gusts are possible with the showers and thunderstorms through Saturday. Heavy rain and flooding are also possible.

Daytime highs are expected to reach 81 degrees Friday, 73 on Saturday – and then 50 on Sunday.
