Eighteen Indiana counties will get 30 days of storm and flood damage assistance after Gov. Mike Braun declared a disaster emergency Friday.
The Disaster Relief Fund allows the state Department of Homeland Security to help communities impacted by severe weather.
In south-central Indiana, Brown, Bartholomew, Owen and Martin counties are included.
Also listed: Clark, Crawford, Dearborn, Delaware, Gibson, Hamilton, Harrison, Lake, Madison, Marshall, Perry, Posey, Spencer and Warrick counties.
"It is my hope that this step enables residents, businesses, and local government to access needed resources and assistance as they assess and recover from these devastating weather events," Braun said.
Residents can report weather damage to Indiana’s 211 phone number or website.
