Emiliano Cuevas Bravo is being held on 15 felony charges at the Jackson County jail.

New court details say the teen arrested last week for a shooting in the Jackson County Library also planned a mass shooting at Seymour High School.

Emiliano Cuevas Bravo, 18, appeared in Jackson Circuit Court Monday morning. He faces 15 felony charges, including seven of attempted murder, five of pointing a firearm at someone, possession of an explosive, and attempted arson.

The probable cause affidavit, released Monday, details the student’s interview with Detective Chris Franklin of the Seymour Police Department.

In the interview, Cuevas Bravo said he was depressed and was inspired by the Columbine High School shooting. He planned the shooting to be on the anniversary of Adolf Hitler’s death.

He drove to his high school and told the detective he planned to shoot multiple people and then himself. However, he saw a teacher he knew and changed course. He then drove to the Seymour branch of the Jackson County library.

Library surveillance footage shows he fired one shot in the direction of an employee. He unsuccessfully tried to remove the spent shell from the shotgun and then threw it on the ground.

He then began to pour motor oil on the carpet before a library patron tackled and held him until law enforcement arrived.

Cuevas Bravo is currently being held without bond in the Jackson County jail. A jury trial is set for Oct. 21. If convicted, he could face a sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison.
