July 4, 2026, marks the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence's signing. To celebrate, the Indiana Wind Symphony will host an early party featuring the concert “American Tapestry,” showcasing some of our nation's finest band composers. This historic milestone offers a moment to pause, reflect on our nation's journey, honor the contributions of all Americans, and envision the future we aspire to create for future generations. Kelleen Strutz will be the featured soloist, performing “Concerto in F” by the American composer George Gershwin.
Additionally, this concert will acknowledge the recipient of the James Calvert Outstanding Music Educator Award for 2026.
Bloomington Parks and Recreation and Cicada Cinema present free movies on the big screen in city parks. Movies begin at dusk; see estimated start times.

This new exhibition features a variety of costume and scenic designs by the late Robert O’Hearn, alumnus and professor emeritus of opera studies in the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. O’Hearn also worked as an opera, ballet, and theater designer for the Metropolitan Opera, IU Opera and Ballet Theater, Broadway, and other opera and theater companies across the country and Europe. A selection from the 600+ works that are now held by the University Archives celebrates O’Hearn as a visual storyteller, talented artist, and impactful designer.

Baby Brilliance is a weekly program for infants / pre-walkers and their caregivers. Each week participants will explore themes related to infant development. Inspired by the book, “Experimenting with Babies,” by Shaun Gallagher.
