Celebrate National Concert Day with WTIU!

This year, National Concert Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 5, with WTIU airing concerts all afternoon and evening.

National Concert Day is Sunday, May 5, and WTIU is offering a special music-filled lineup that day to celebrate!

John Denver's Rocky Mountain High – 12pm

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic title track from Denver’s 1972 album with a 1974 concert filmed at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater. 

The Doobie Brothers 50th Anniversary at Radio City Music Hall - 1:30pm

Celebrate 50 years with the GRAMMY-winning band, who have sold more than 48 million albums worldwide featuring their mind-blowing, roots based, harmony-laden, guitar-driven rock and roll. 

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Friends: 50 Years and Circlin' Back – 3pm

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band celebrates 50 years with special guests Vince Gill, John Prine, Jackson Browne, Alison Krauss, Rodney Crowell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmy Ibbotson, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and Byron House.

Joe Bonamassa & Orchestra: Live At The Hollywood Bowl - 4:30pm

Joe Bonamassa made his highly anticipated live debut at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, accompanied by a stellar ensemble of 40 orchestra members.

James Taylor: One Man Band - 6:30pm

This concert performance features James Taylor's most important songs, interspersed with personal anecdotes, touching reflections, and never-before-seen home movies and photographs from Taylor's personal archives.
