Easy to Love: Roberta Gambarini

This week on Afterglow it's "Easy to Love: Roberta Gambarini." Italian-born, Gambarini came to the United States in the late 1990s on a scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music.

After finishing third in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal competition, she moved to New York City and came under the tutelage of musicians such as jazz great Benny Carter.

In recent years she's worked frequently with Hank Jones, and we'll hear the two of them on their new CD of duets, Lush Life , as well as music from her Grammy-nominated album Easy to Love . You can read more about Roberta Gambarini here .

Other artists this week include Freddie Hubbard, Julie London, Joe Lovano, Jeremy Pelt, and Bing Crosby.
