When Frank Sinatra left Harry James at the end of 1939 to join Tommy Dorsey's big band, he was still a youthful, relative unknown.
Two and a half years later Sinatra would depart Dorsey's orchestra as a star and go on to launch one of the most successful solo-vocalist careers of the 20th century.
"When Sinatra Met Dorsey" presents some of the music Sinatra recorded during his all-important stay with Dorsey, as well as several reunion broadcasts the singer did with the band in 1944, and a couple of sides from his 1962 Reprise tribute to his former boss, I Remember Tommy.
