Emotional Smokers

What can emotions have to do with smoking? That's the topic of discussion on today's Moment of Science.

Recent studies suggest that emotional smokers may have a harder time dropping the habit than other folks. In order to quit smoking, they may need to find effective ways of managing their stress. That's where the yoga comes in. If you're a smoker and get the tiniest bit agitated, do a bit of yoga, and you'll feel calmer. The study also shows that while both men and women are more likely to smoke when they're angry, anxious, or sad, women are also likely to smoke when they're happy. Imagine that. It's enough to make you crazy!
