Addicted to Exercise

Exercise is healthy right?

Well, it certainly is for most people, however for others it can become an addiction that does more harm than good.

For example, if you feel guilty when you miss a workout, or feel that you have to get to the gym no matter what, exercise addiction could be disrupting your life.

First, exercising too much can wear you down and sap your energy. Also, some people get so committed to working out that they'll skip work or school to hit the gym. These folks get anxious and jittery if they can't get in that five mile run, or lift weights.

It's actually not that different from drug addiction. However, because we generally encourage exercise and see it as a good thing, it can be hard to know if you have a problem. If working out is a regular part of your life, you are probabaly fine, but when exercise is your life, that's not healthy.
