Broccoli Vs. Skin Cancer

According to scientists at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, three-day old extracts from broccoli might protect the skin against damage caused by being in the sun too much.

Don't be misled however, smearing broccoli extract on the skin doesn't absorb ultraviolet light like a sunscreen. Instead, broccoli extracts help boost the cells' protective response against redness and inflammation caused by ultraviolet radiation.

A great deal of testing still needs to be done before you will see any broccoli extract's on the market, but the potential of broccoli in reducing sun damage remains promising.
