Cellist János Starker Remembered In Live Broadcast Event

On Sunday, September 22 at 4pm, Indiana University and the Jacobs School of Music will remember the life of famed cellist and Distinguished Professor János Starker who died  April 28, 2013.   Celebrating the Life of János Starker will also be simulcast on WFIU, with coverage beginning at 3:55pm.

The event will feature performances by Tsuyoshi Tutsumi, Shigeo Neriki, William and Alexandra Preucil, and Mark Kosower. IU President Michael McRobbie and Jacobs School Dean Emeritus Charles Webb will join members of the Starker family and Starker Institute Executive Vice President Allen Ketchersid in remembrances. The music of János Starker will be represented through archival audio and video selections.

The Jacobs School will also be webstreaming the eventlive from their website.
