Horizons In Music - Choral Works By Ola Gjeilo

When Charles Bruffy heard Ola Gjeilo's setting of the antiphon "Ubi caritas" at a choral director's conference in Miami, Florida back in 2007, he recognized it as something special. He went back to Arizona and introduced Gjeilo's music to his ensemble the Phoenix Chorale. That began a long partnership with the Norwegian composer that has culminated in the 2012 release of "Northern Lights: Choral Works by Ola Gjeilo" on the Chandos label.

This week on WFIU's Horizons in Music, a program celebrating the music of living composers, we talk with Ola Gjeilo about his music and hear selections from the recording.
