Back In The Studio With Sylvia McNair

Sylvia McNair stopped by the the WFIU studios during the first Saturday of our 2010 Fund Drive.  The internationally known vocalist and voice professor at the Jacobs School of Music spoke with George Walker about her adventures as a WFIU announcer during her student days.  She also reminisced about two stars of the opera world who recently passed away, Shirley Verrett and Joan Sutherland. She also related the story about her very close encounter with Leonard Bernstein, and that's just a small taste of the conversation with the effervescent star.

We present the audio of this unique afternoon as a thank you to those who have already pledged this Fund Drive.  And we hope that if you haven't yet made a pledge, you would consider contributing now and help us to continue to bring you the cultural programming you have come to expect over the last 60 years.
