Senate Votes, FDA To "Police" Food Companies

A Senate health panel recently approved extensive legislation that would give the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) more authority to regulate food safety.

Under this new law, the FDA hopes to prevent further food contamination. The legislation gives the FDA the authority to set "safety standards" for produce, which requires that food corporations take steps to stop corruption of their products.
