Powering Your Entire Home With Pedal Power

It's hard to get a tangible idea of just how much energy it takes to power a modern home.

Thankfully, the BBC program "Bang Goes The Theory" recently aired an episode exploring just that. They put together a demonstration of how much energy it would take to power an entire home, simply by riding a bunch of stationary bicycles.

It's a brilliant demonstration that might make you think twice next time you forget to turn your lights off, take a shower, or turn your thermostat up a few more degrees.
