You Better Recycle...Big Brother Is Watching!

In a story that is one part cool and one part terrifying, certain communities have now placed RFID tracking microchips in the recycling bins provided to households. Then, when the trash crew comes around each week they can pull up which houses are recycling properly - and which are not.

Now, this initiative is also to make sure all bins are picked up weekly, but it is certainly interesting. The article doesn't mention what happens to people who choose not to recycle aside from getting a lecture full of information, but it sure does not seem like this is a voluntary situation.

How would you feel if you found out through this article that your recycling bin was being "chipped?" Even if you do love the environment and recycling, that's an interesting pill to swallow.
