Judith Barter, Farm Bill Saving (Or Not), Cranberry Cocktail

It takes 18 hours to fix a Thanksgiving dinner, it takes 12 minutes to eat it, and it is no coincidence that halftime is 12 minutes long. She was right. We've just commercialized Thanksgiving.

Judith Barter is quoting Erma Bombeck there. Barter is the curator of the recent exhibition Art and Appetite at the Art Institute of Chicago. She'll talk about how Thanksgiving has been represented in paintings throughout the years.

We visit turkey farmer Mandy Napier, and she introduces us to her flock.

When will the farm bill start saving taxpayers money? Harvest Public Media says probably not this year.

Author Bill Best talks about the favorite bean seed in his collection.

And cranberries in your cocktail with Chef Daniel Orr.
