Food Books From American History, Corn Harvest, Radish Snack

What I love about it is that it does not promote the stereotypes that just young girls need to cook. There's a young man in a tie who is cooking some sort of meat. Also this whole notion of children being invited to the kitchen and teaching children to cook.

Vivian Halloran is talking about the cover photo on the Young America's Cook Book. She has curated an exhibition of books about American food. She'll show us some of the first cookbooks published in America during today's show.
