The Job Market

Many composers often had to take on several other odd jobs in order to sustain themselves. Such was the case with this American composer. In his early days, he had a wide variety of jobs, including work as a church organist and as an insurance salesman. This composer loved to think outside the box when it came to composing music, throwing in techniques that had never been heard in classical music up to that time. While he never achieved significant musical notoriety during his lifetime, he has since become one of our country's most admired musical figures.
