June is the perfect month to tour gardens and to enjoy the beauty of flowers and flower displays. If you are lucky enough to live in a community that has a Garden Tour, do not miss the opportunity it presents to learn from observing other people's gardens.
If you love flowers, also try to visit some of the attractions in other locations when you are on business or vacation trips.
Flowers At The Golden Gate
For example, when your destination is San Francisco, try to visit the famous Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. It houses about 1,700 species of plants from all over the world.
The building has 16,800 window panes nestled within a grid of 100 arches crafted from Redwood and Douglas Fir. It is the oldest wood and glass Victorian-style conservatory in North America.
A 6ft. Water Lilly
One of the highlights is the collection of tropical plants and among the aquatic plants is the giant water lily, Victoria Amazonica, which can grow up to 6 feet in diameter.
This conservatory was the first location in North America where this lily was able to be seen blooming at night. In addition to such rare plants as this, there are always breathtaking seasonal displays.
