Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan says he thinks there's still a chance Interstate 69 winds up in the Metropolitan Planning Organization's long-term plans.
Kruzan says he is not worried about officials on the MPO being sued for voting to include I-69 in the county's plans, but says he understands the argument that voting for inclusion is a vote against the will of many county residents.
Still, he acknowledges the Indiana Department of Transportation could impose sanctions on the county should it vote not to use federal dollars on I-69 planning and construction.
