The language of flowers.

Languages are being communicated and disseminated more broadly and rapidly than they ever have in human history, even as native tongues and dialects steadily disappear. It is curious that the technologies that allow for the further spread of language are also complicit in the narrowing of verbal expression and the increased homogenization of speech. If the number of languages and animal species continues to decline, can our direction possibly be seen as being progress?
