Journalist David Sanger

"People often say ‘Why do people talk to reporters?' I think because everybody has a human urge to explain themselves and what they're doing."

David Sanger covers foreign policy, globalization, nuclear proliferation, and the presidency for the The New York Times.

He has been awarded numerous honors for national security and foreign policy coverage, and has been a member of two teams that won the Pulitzer Prize.

His two books are The Inheritance: The World Obama Confronts and the Challenges to American Power, based on his years as the Times White House correspondent; and Confront and Conceal: Obama's Secret Wars and Surprising Use of American Power.
