Author and University of Alabama Professor, Michael Martone

Michael Martone is the author of several fiction and nonfiction collections, including " The Blue Guide to Indiana ," " Seeing Eye ," " Pensée: The Thoughts of Dan Quayle ," " Fort Wayne is Seventh on Hitler's List" and " The Flatness and Other Landscapes," a collection of essays about the Midwest.

Praised for his wit, sarcasm and passionate language, Martone often writes about Indiana life with what Louise Erdrich describes as a "deep affection for the ordinary." Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Martone studied at Butler University in Indianapolis and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in English. He is now Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program at the University of Alabama.

Michael Wilkerson hosts this hour-long interview.
