I think you are trying to remove logs and logjams. That's the job of public servants and diplomats. And that's the ultimately what negotiations are about. Every negotiation has one or more logjams and it's our job to try to remove them. And to try to resolve things in a responsible and peaceful way—without there having a need to be a confrontation or a conflict or anything else.
Sir Nigel Sheinwald is the British Ambassador to the United States. Previously, he served as Foreign Policy and Defence Adviser to the Prime Minister, Foreign Policy and Defence Adviser, and Head of the Cabinet Office Defence and Overseas Secretariat.
