Monroe County saw a flood of women on the ballot this year after they swept the primary elections in May. And that trend held true for most of the positions open in the midterms.
With all precincts reporting, unofficial voter turnout is at 57.27 percent, more than doubling the 26 percent turnout of the last midterm election in 2014.

Democrat Darcie L. Fawcett won the race for Monroe County Circuit Court Judge, beating Republican candidate Kevin Weldon.
In the race for county clerk, Democratic incumbent Nicole Browne was reelected. She beat out her Republican opponent Jacob Franklin.
The Monroe County Council saw three women elected. Democrat Elizabeth "Lee" Jones won the District 1 seat over Republican Larry D. Barker, Democrat Kate Wiltz beat Republican opponent Ann Collins for the District 2 seat, and Republican incumbent Martha Hawk beat Ashley Pirani in District 3.
For the Monroe County School Board, Elizabeth A. Ruh was elected to the District 1 seat, and incumbent Martha Street secured her seat in District 3.
Angie Jacobs won Bean Blossom in the Richland-Bean Blossom School Board. Incumbent Dana R. Kerr won Richland.
Democratic incumbent Eric Schmitz was reelected as county recorder, winning against Republican Hal Turner.
