No action is going to be taken on a proposal filed by an Indiana legislator who says she was groped at a bar by state Attorney General Curtis Hill that aims to make it easier to remove some state officeholders from their positions.
A Republican House committee chairman says now isn't the time to consider the bill while Hill faces a possible lawsuit over the allegations.
Democratic Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon of Munster and three female legislative staffers have alleged that Hill inappropriately touched them during a March party at an Indianapolis bar. A special prosecutor declined in October to pursue any criminal charges against Hill, who has denied wrongdoing.
Another Democratic legislator says he plans on seeking impeachment or legislative censure of Hill.
