Man Drowns At Lake Monroe

Officials say William Snoddy, of Indianapolis died yesterday at Lake Monroe in Bloomington.

DNR officers got a call shortly before 3:30 Sunday afternoon for a report of man who went under the water in Allen’s Creek and didn’t resurface.

Divers found the man's body at approximately 10:00 pm last night in 30 feet of water.  The Monroe County coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The DNR is reiterating its call for swimmers and boaters to wear a life jacket.

The DNR has declined to say whether the drowning victim was wearing a life jacket.
