Traffic on State Road 45/46 near I-69 will shift entirely to the newly-constructed westbound lanes near Bloomington Thursday as part of the next phase of Gov. Holcomb's Next Level Roads initiative.
An Indiana Department of Transportation news release says all eastbound lanes will be closed and traffic will move to westbound lanes with one lane in each direction.
The release says on-and off-ramps to I-69 on the north side of 45/46 will reopen on Thursday, while the ramps on the south side will close.
The $5 million pavement replacement project began in June and is expected to be completed by Nov. 15.
The release says ramp closures will not occur during several upcoming high-traffic Indiana University-Bloomington weekend events. These dates are listed below:
- Noon on Aug. 16 through sunrise Aug. 26
- Noon on Sept. 13 through sunrise Sept. 16
- Noon on Oct. 11 through sunrise Oct. 14
- Noon on Nov. 1 through sunrise Nov. 4
