Republican Representative for Indiana’s 9th District Trey Hollingsworth says a strong economy is America’s biggest priority.
Hollingsworth talked about his policy agenda during a luncheon at the Ellettsville Chamber Thursday.
He praised the country’s record low unemployment but attacked regulations in the financial sector and D.C. for ignoring the national debt.
“We have got to get the spending under control," says the Congressman. "We have got to ensure that we don’t hand down a mountain of debt instead of a bunch of opportunities.”
He also addressed workforce development and says Indiana’s doing a good job preparing youth for a technologically-driven work environment.
After his speech, Hollingsworth answered questions from chamber members on a range of issues including healthcare, flood insurance and tax codes.
He most recently introduced the Livestock Protection Act to the House of Representatives which would allow farmers to protect their livestock from vultures.
