Seven Bodies Found In NW Indiana Over The Weekend

Police found three more bodies in Gary overnight, after four bodies were found over the weekend in Gary and Hammond.

The Lake County Coronor‘s office now says seven bodies have been found, and two have been identified as Afrika Hardy of Gary and Anith Jones of Merrillville.

Gary Police spokesperson Corporal Gabrielle King told Chicago TV station WLS-TV that once investigators find out who they are, they can do a timeline back to see who the last person was that they talked to or last person was who they were with and then the investigation can really take off.

A 43-year-old Gary man who is being called a "person of interest" is in custody. He led officers to three of the four female victims at abandoned houses in Gary late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Hammond Mayor Tom McDermott Jr. said in a comment on his Facebook page that the Gary man "is a suspect in many murders, spanning many years, in NWI."
