Forecasters are calling for two rounds of severe weather due to a strong system pushing a cold front through southern Indiana today. A tornado watch is in effect until 9:00 p.m.
The colliding fronts are expected to spark strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon with a second round this evening. Forecasters say damaging winds, some of which could reach up to 80 MPH, is the main severe threat. Large hail and a few tornadoes are also possible.
The greater risk of storms lies south of Indianapolis to Sullivan. A slight risk of severe weather is forecast for north of Indianapolis to Terre Haute.
