We're kicking off our state parks project at Ouabache State Park south of Fort Wayne. There's a very special reason to go there this weekend: park rangers just welcomed a new bison to the herd!
The bison was just recently named the official mammal of the United States, and Ouabache is the only state park in Indiana home to a bison herd. Ouabache naturalists will lead a bison hiking starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28.
Meet me at the hike!
If you can't make it this weekend, join me on another adventure as I go to every state park in Indiana by the end of the year.
Happy Hiking!
