IU Notifies FBI Of Flyers Posted On Campus By White Supremacists

Indiana University announced Monday it has notified police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation of flyers posted on campus by a white supremacist group.

IU Provost and Executive Vice President Lauren Robel said in an email the flyers were posted on the office doors of faculty members of color and scholars of race and ethnicity.

"These flyers were meant to intimidate, threaten, scare and provoke anger among faculty, staff, students and visitors," Robel said in a statement. "Our university rejects all forms of racism, bigotry, and discrimination. These are in direct conflict with our core values and simply will not be tolerated. Our campus unequivocally rejects the cowardice and ugliness that this group's action represents."

The Provost's email says the flyers also appeared at as many as 30 universities across the country over the weekend.

IU officials encourage the campus community to report the flyers and any other similar acts to the IU Police Department and to the university's Bias Incident team.
