Former Vigo Co. Resident Arrested For Voting Outside Of Precinct

Indiana State Police arrested a former Vigo County resident Thursday for continuing to vote in Indiana after allegedly moving to Illinois.

Police say they started investigating Jerome Kesler after receiving a tip last fall. They found evidence that showed Kesler moved from Vigo County to Edgar County, Ill. in 2010. Kesler is the county's Emergency Management deputy planning director. But, police say he continued to vote in Vigo County primary and general elections from 2010 to 2014.

Kesler turned himself in at the Vigo County jail after police issued a warrant for his arrest Thursday. He was released after paying a $500 bond. Kesler faces two counts of voting outside precinct residence, which are both Class D felonies.

Police say the case isn't related to any other investigations.
