The president of the Monroe County Community School Corporation Board of Trustees is stepping down.
Board President Lois Sabo-Skelton says it's time for her to return to her professional life full time. Sabo-Skelton made the announcement during a school board meeting Tuesday night.
In a recording captured by Bloomington Community Access Television Services she says she is still devoted to the support of public education.
“I will not be far away, I remain a staunch supporter of the American public school system, the real public schools because this is the heart and soul of our democracy," she says.
Sabo-Skelton served on the board for more than a decade. She will remain board president through the end of 2019.
